Donate food

Our foodbank relies on your goodwill and support.

Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.

There are different ways you can donate food:

  1. Buy food online via our Give Today page. Whether you’re looking to buy one item or a hundred, Give Today will cater to all orders with no minimum requirement and no shipping fees. The  precise items you choose are delivered directly to us, ensuring a seamless process from start to finish.

2.  Donate direct to us.  Our shopping list on the right shows the food items that we need right now.

Donations can be made directly to the main foodbank building:  The Well, Trafford Street, Farnworth, BL4 7PQ (behind Farnworth Library).   We are usually open for donations from 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri but you can contact us on 01204 861671 to confirm that someone is available to accept the donations.

If you would like to drop off at one of our collection points, please see the table below for their  locations. The Tesco and Asda collection points are intended for food that has been purchased in-store.  Any food that has been purchased in a different store and brought into the Tesco or Asda collection points should be sealed and clearly labelled as having been purchased elsewhere.

We always welcome donations and promise to use them to provide help to people in crisis. Occasionally we send food to other nearby foodbanks to support their work particularly if they experience shortages. This ensures your donations go to help people wherever in the UK they are.

Please contact us if you have any questions about donating food.
